My Story (quick version)
I was born and raised in Southern California (Whittier, CA to be exact). I am the youngest of three children and the only boy. My dad was the pastor of christian education at First Fundamental Bible Church in Monterey Park, and my entire family was active in that church. My life through high school revolved around church, bodyboarding, water polo and skating. At 18, after graduating from high school, I joined the United States Coast Guard (USCG).
Though I had trusted Christ at a young age (I think I was 6), and had grown up in the church, my faith had been dependent on my parents faith. But at 18, as I was away from my parents and my church, I began to study the Scriptures on my own and see for myself the grace of the living God. My parents faith had shaped my younger years, but as I ventured out on my own, the grace of God began to mold and reshape me.
As a member of the USCG I was stationed in Cape May, NJ; Alameda, CA; Yorktown, VA; and San Diego, CA. As a crew member of the Coast Guard Cutter Chase, I traveled to Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Alaska, and Canada.
After spending four years in the Coast Guard, I began working in the business world. Though I enjoyed working in business, I sensed that God was leading me in a different direction. After completing my Bachelors in Religion at Liberty University, God called me into full-time youth ministry.
Our God is a relational God, and so I believe that the family of God (church) reflect that by building relationships: A loving relationship with God (worship), a loving relationship with one another (fellowship), and a loving relationship with unbelievers (evangelism). When the church lives out these relationships, the world will “see our good deeds, and glorify our Father, who is in heaven”
I am excited to be serving the Lord and the people of Bethlehem Covenant Church!
